Loveland Takes Down Mount Healthy 60-41 In Day Two Opener




The first game of the second day of the second annual Holiday Hardwood Classic featured a battle between the Loveland Tigers of the ECC and the Mount Healthy Owls of the SWOC. The game began with layups on both sides, as Loveland scored first followed by a Tyree Hinkston basket for the Owls. A three-point basket by Andrew Breese of Loveland extended the Tiger lead to 11-5, and the score at the end of Q1 was 13-8.


The second quarter featured a back-and-forth, even battle and ultimately the halftime score was 24-16 Loveland.


The first bucket of the third quarter was an and-one by Hinkston, who missed the free throw. Loveland quickly answered with a layup by Jack Sauer. A three-pointer by Mount Healthy's Aaron Thurmond was quickly answered by a Loveland three from Breese. An and-one from Loveland's Chase Martin extended the Tiger lead to 34-23 with 4:05 remaining in the third quarter. Loveland ultimately extending the lead to 40-27 at the end of the third quarter.


Ultimately, Loveland defeated Mount Healthy 60-41.


Loveland's Jack Sauer was named the LaRosa's Game MVP.
