Harrison Outlasts West Clermont In Sixth Game of Holiday Hardwood Classic

The sixth of eight games at the 2022 Holiday Hardwood Classic featured the West Clermont Wolves out of the ECC taking on the Harrison Wildcats of the SWOC. Both teams have endured slow starts to the season, as West Clermont began the game with a 1-6 record while Harrison entered at 2-5.

The first quarter was largely played on the perimeter, as there were just two fouls called in total and West Clermont's zone defense forced Harrison into a lot of outside shots. Ultimately, the first quarter ended with a 14-11 West Clermont lead.

The second quarter featured more hot outside shooting and Harrison ultimately was able to tie the score at 22-22 entering the halftime break.

The third quarter was extremely low scoring, with Harrison continuing their second-quarter momentum to grab a 31-27 lead heading into the final frame. Ultimately, what started as a low-scoring game stayed a low-scoring game as Harrison pulled away and defeated West Clermont by a final score of 44-29.

Harrison's Evan Winia was named Beacon/TriHealth Player of the Game for his efforts in the Wildcat victory.

In their next matchup, West Clermont will head to Little Miami for a 7:30 tip on Tuesday, Jan. 3, while Harrison will host Taylor this upcoming Friday, Dec. 30.
